We are looking for a Mechanical Designer

Your Role

As a mechanical designer with us, you will be part of the entire development process, from concept design to the creation of the final product. This includes product improvement, lifecycle management, and communication with suppliers & internal/external customers. Furthermore, the role involves close collaboration with our local prototype department, as well as revision and documentation management in the company's PDM system.

Your tasks will include:

• Support for the prototype department.
• Create assembly and detail designs within our product segment. This primarily involves creating products and designs, both in PDM systems, CAD environments, and to some extent 3D printing.
• Product improvements and modifications of existing designs.
• Support and contribute to our improvement work regarding method, product, and process development. This may involve refining our development process, writing instructions, creating checklists, and exploring new technical solutions regarding design or manufacturing.
• If necessary, support our sales/pre-study organization in analyzing and early defining how a design can look in relation to customer requirements.

In addition, work is ongoing to develop our processes and work routines. We see great opportunities to influence our structure and ways of working. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with others and offers great opportunities for variation and development, both theoretically and practically.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with documented experience in mechanical design. You have a technical background from high school, college, university, or other relevant experience in the field. As a person, we see that you take responsibility for your tasks, structure your work, and drive the process forward. You enjoy solving technical problems and have good analytical skills and can realize your ideas. You are unpretentious and flexible. Since we work closely with our workshop, we have the advantage of following our creations from idea to finished product.

To succeed in the role:

• Experience in mechanical design.
• CAD modeling.
• Drawing preparation.
• Conducting strength calculations.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

It is advantageous if you also have experience with:

• Autodesk (Vault, Inventor, Autocad).
• Experience from the defense/aerospace industry.
• The ERP system IFS Sherpa.

If any experience or knowledge is lacking, we will of course support you in getting into the work in the best way!

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
